DRUMS/PERCUSSION

Rock, POP, Jazz, Classical

Alex Murphy-White

Alex has been studying and performing music since the age of 5. He began taking cello lessons in kindergarten where he found his passion for music. Ever since his music passion led him to play many other instruments including guitar, bass, trumpet and piano, with a primary focus on drums and percussion.

Alex had an honor to study with several drum instructors in Northern KY and Cincinnati area including Stan Ginn, Mark McCafferty, and Elmer Monk. Throughout his 11 years of drum/percussion studies Alex has been exposed to various teaching methods and playing styles. He draws his knowledge from this experience that makes him a versatile performer and teacher.

Alex's years of study has been accompanied with 8 years of performance experience thus far. He has performed in numerous ensembles throughout high school including jazz band, percussion ensemble, symphonic band, and marching band. Alex has continued his study of music since high school with the Northern Kentucky University Steel Drum Ensemble focusing on bass and drum set, and performing with his band "Season Ten," playing drums.

Drums have been Alex's passion since early childhood and he is excited to share his love for music and drums to his students. Alex enjoys working with students of any skill level, whether they are a beginner, intermediate or advanced. His experience with various percussion instruments, as well as classical, rock and jazz drumming makes him a very credible and versatile teacher.

Alex is excited to teach at Queen City Music Studio and share his knowledge and experience with students at QCMS.
